Pursuit of ultrasonic cavitation peening effect and request 2024/7/3

A patent was granted for a technology that uses ultrasonic waves to generate cavities (micro vacuum nuclei) with diameters as large as 10 mmΦ and to enhance the annihilation speed of the cavities in order to strengthen the impact force (cavity implosion technology). We are currently studying the possibility of using this cavity implosion technology in various fields.

The decomposition of organic matter at the molecular level, the decomposition bonding at the nano-level, the formation of nanoparticles, and so on. From a different perspective, we began to consider whether it would be possible to produce a peening effect that could produce an effect equivalent to the shot peening effect.

The cavity implosion technique can destroy even a 5 mm aluminum plate. We would like to see if cavities can generate compressive residual stresses in the surface layer of the metal. Furthermore, we would like to achieve improved wear resistance, stress corrosion cracking resistance, heat dissipation, and fluid resistance reduction using only ultrasonic waves without using shot materials.

However, there are many things we are not able to do, such as measuring compressive residual stress, so if there are customers who are interested, please contact us. Since ultrasonic cavities alternate between compression and opening, they also reduce residual stress at the same time.
